Ubuntu is an ancient African philosophy that means “I am because we are.” It speaks to the idea that we are all interconnected—when one of us thrives, we all thrive. And when one of us struggles, the community comes together to offer support.
At Holding Space Spa, we believe in the power of collective care. The Ubuntu Fund is our way of giving back, providing moments of peace and healing to those who need it most. Whether someone is facing financial hardship, job loss, illness, or personal struggles, this fund helps ensure that self-care isn’t out of reach.
The Ubuntu Fund is built on generosity and community support. Here’s how it is funded:
Do you know someone who could use a moment of rest and renewal? Nominating them is simple:
If you have an unused Holding Space Spa gift card and aren’t planning to use it, consider donating it to the Ubuntu Fund. Just let us know, and we’ll transfer the balance into the fund, where it will go directly toward helping someone in need.
As a thank-you, if you redeem or donate your gift card before May 1st, we’ll add an extra $10 to the fund to increase its impact.
Many in our community are facing uncertainty—whether due to layoffs, financial difficulties, or personal hardships. The Ubuntu Fund is a small but meaningful way we can come together to offer care and kindness. Because in the end, as the story goes:
"How can any one of us be happy if the others are sad?"
Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support, in whatever way you choose to give, makes a difference.
With gratitude,
Sara Reiss
